Five years ago young musicians in Zimbabwe had very little, if any, opportunity to hear their music being played on national radio which was dominated by artists from the US and UK.

Today, young local musicians have a better chance of getting on-air because of the Broadcasting Services Act, which stipulates that local radio and TV must include 75 per cent of local content in their programming.

For some young people it brings the prospect of music being a job for the first time. Derek Moyo visited musicians rehearsing.
