In Uganda, more than 20,000 children have been abducted by the rebels of the Lords Resistance Army, which has been fighting government forces for the last 18 years.
Many of them have now escaped – returning home with children fathered by the rebels – and telling horrifying stories of killings, rape and forced labour in rebel camps inside neighbouring Sudan.
When they arrive home some of these former rebel girl soldiers are sent to live in special rehabilitation centres. Joel Tema heard some of their stories.
