Roads are key to the development of a country – even the most poorly maintained roads are vital for people getting to work and earning a wage.

In Bolivia's northern region of the Yungas, there's only one route to get produce and people to the capital. It has been called the world's most dangerous road.

But a solution may have been found – a new and safer road funded by donors. Estelle Doyle travelled down the infamous road.
