Patrick Dambula graduated from the Malawi Institute of Journalism in 2004, and started his career at the Weekly News. Later he moved to the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation where he still works.
He has worked as an Editor, a Producer and a Senior Reporter based in Lilongwe, the capital city. His interest in environmental issues started in 2005 when he participated in an environmental reporting training workshop organized by the Malawi Environmental Endowment Trust. Since then he has been an environmental reporter. Currently he produces a programme called The Pride of our Nation which focuses on environmental issues. He hopes after this fellowship he will be enlightened enough to play a significant role in educating his country on how best to deal with climate change. Dambula has a diploma in journalism and a certificate in environmental reporting. He is a member of the Lilongwe City Assembly Media Task Force, a body that sensitizes people to environmental issues.
