Our network

The Panos Network is a dynamic global partnership of seven independent institutes held together by a common mission and set of values.

It comprises seven institutes which work to ensure that information is effectively used to foster public debate, pluralism and democracy. Full details of each of the network offices are below:

Panos Pictures


Our sister organisation, Panos Pictures, is a photo agency specialising in global social issues, driven by the vision and commitment of its photographers and staff. Panos Pictures is known internationally for its fresh and intelligent approach and respected for its integrity and willingness to pursue stories beyond the contemporary media agenda.

Panos Caribbean

Panos Caribbean works to amplify the voices of poor and the marginalised through the media, and to ensure their inclusion in public and policy debates, in order to enable Caribbean communities and countries to articulate and communicate their own development agendas.

Panos Eastern Africa

Panos Eastern Africa is a regional, information and communication for development non-governmental organisation working in the East, and Great Horn, of Africa. They work around issues of media pluralism and development; governance and globalisation; health communication; pastoralist communication and gender, environment and conflict.

Panos Paris

Panos Paris logoThe Institut Panos Paris was established in 1986 as a non governmental organisation focusing on giving support to media pluralism.They endeavour to foster a media environment that reflects the diversity of our contemporary societies, where all communities, including the most marginalised, are able to express their points of view, exert their influence and contribute to local and international public debates.

Panos South Asia

Panos South Asia has its headquarters in Kathmandu (Nepal) with country offices in New Delhi (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Karachi (Pakistan), and Dhaka (Bangladesh). They work on a range of issues including poverty, globalisation, HIV/AIDS and climate change.

Panos Southern Africa

Panos Southern Africa (PSAf) is a regional non-profit, non-governmental communication for development organisation who use innovative methodologies to engage the media and other key stakeholders to ensure that the development agenda is shaped and driven by the most affected members of Southern Africa’s communities.

Panos Global AIDS programme

The Panos Global AIDS programme aims to amplify the voices of those most marginalised and affected by the HIV and AIDS epidemic, and those most difficult to reach. Based in Haiti the programme works across the world with staff working in all the different Panos network offices.

The Network is legally registered as an international foundation in The Netherlands. It is governed by the Panos Council, which is made up of one board member and the director from each institute, with a small secretariat based in New Delhi, India.
